Viking tents, used during the Viking Age (793-1066 CE), were portable shelters made from animal hides, canvas, and durable materials. The most common type was the wedge tent, a small, triangular tent supported by a single pole, used by warriors and traders.

Larger groups and families used oval-shaped longhouse tents, made from wooden frames and covered with hides or canvas. These were designed for longer stays. Vikings also had ceremonial tents, like the Sveitserk, used for religious festivals.

Today, Viking tents are popular in historical reenactments, providing an authentic glimpse into Viking life.
